The Arabic
School of Portland (ASP) was established in September 2003 as an Arabic
immersion school to provide a total language experience to pupils whose
parents want them to have the advantage of becoming proficient in the
Arabic language in addition to their proficiency in the English language.
Therefore, the school teaches the pupils (in grades PreK-12) the Arabic
language Arts, Islamic Studies, Social Studies, Math, and Science. All
subjects are taught in Arabic.
The ASP is a
part-time school designed to complement each student's daily education,
whether it be public school, private school, or homeschool.
There
are separate classes for boys and girls in grade 7th and above.
Currently, the
school has students in the PreK to the 12th grade. The school opens the
classes every year as needed.
School Hours:
In-person classes Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Virtual classes Monday and Wednesday: 6:00 – 8:00 PM
Saturday's Sport Activities (Optional): 1:00 – 2:00 PM
The
school is registered in the state of Oregon as a nonprofit organization
for public benefit.
The
school is managed by a board that consists of:
